SugarMumma is an App that aims to support women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. It has been developed by clinicians and researchers at The University of Canberra.
The SugarMumma app is not to be used for the purpose of diagnosis. Patients should not use any information they record to adjust prescribed medication regimes. The app is for the purpose of assisting already diagnosed patients better collect and present their condition data to medical professionals to improve their treatment.
All users should seek advice from their primary care physician before making any medical decisions.
Biographies
Cathy Knight-Agarwal:
Dr. Cathy Knight-Agarwal is an advanced accredited practising dietitian with over 20 years experience in both clinical practice and research. She is a committed advocate for raising awarness around the importance of nutrition throughout pregnancy and beyond using a non-judgemental, woman-centred approach. She hopes SugarMumma will help women living with GDM better mange their condition by providing credible information and support.
Deborah Davis:
Professor Deborah Davis is a midwife with over 30 years’ experience in clinical practice and research. She is passionate about maternity and wants every woman to have a positive experience no matter the complexity of their pregnancy. She believes women are the experts in their own bodies and hopes SugarMumma can help women to understand how their body responds in the context of GDM.
